Estonia Elements

ESTONIA Soundboards

ESTONIA's specialty is its resonant soundboard. This soundboard material has a high number of growth rings per inch, a heartwood of clear grain, and acquires very minimal coloring over the years. The same spruce is used on all models. Soundboard construction is an art in itself, handcrafted by the masters at the rimsESTONIA Piano Factory. Thus, ESTONIA grand pianos maintain their unique tone.

ESTONIA Rims
Our rims are solid and thick, much thicker than most other pianos. Solid rims are important for a distinctive sound, plus such boards support the overall tension of the piano structure, thus adding to the endurance of the instrument. These rims are made at the ESTONIA Piano Factory.

ESTONIA Keyboards
ESTONIA keyboards have a subtle feel and are made easy to play on, which enable pianists to perform technically difficult passages with ease and consequently extend the endurance of the pianists' physical execution and performance precision. ESTONIA Concert Grand Pianos have Kluge keyboards.

ESTONIA Mechanisms
renner_action

ESTONIA pianos have Renner actions, chosen for their high performance by professional pianists. Louis Renner GMBH & Company, founded in 1882 in Stuttgart, Germany, makes their actions according to the specifications of the ESTONIA Piano Factory. ESTONIA pianos have Renner hammers.

ESTONIA Keybeds
ESTONIA and Bösendorfer are the only two companies in the world that build their keybeds inside and into the rim. Preserving the old German tradition, this takes much more working hours and craftsmanship than the regular way of having the keybed under the rim. It supports the whole construction idea of having all parts very connected. The result is tightly fitted components on a well-integrated construction and a powerful musical projection. ESTONIA distinguishes itself from other piano manufacturers with its unique rim-leg connection. This feature is possible only on hand-crafted pianos.

Other Elements
ESTONIA name - the people and factory are so proud of their pianos that they named them after the nation in which the factory is located. This is unique in the piano world today where lots of old names are simply bought as such and pianos have little resemblance to the original founders and makers.

Double casters - all models of ESTONIA pianos have double casters to protect your floor. They are more imposing than the single caster, and bring a concert hall atmosphere to your home.

double_duplexDouble duplex scale - ESTONIA Grand's have a movable scale of individual pieces. It enables technicians to change the scale design according to their wishes and necessary acoustics. This special feature is rarely available.

Scale design - a special scale design has been developed by acoustic scientists from the ESTONIA Piano Factory, the Estonian Institute of Cybernetics and specialists from Germany. Thorough testing was done before the scale design was finally approved by our masters.

Strings - Röslau strings from Germany are regarded as the best piano strings in the world. The bass strings are made in our factory in order to maintain the deep, majestic and organ-like sound of the ESTONIA pianos.
